AH Covers is owned and operated by Alex Hinton
With a passion for sailing ignited at the young age of seven, Alex has navigated a diverse array of vessels, from dinghies to skiffs and keelers, and successfully participated in offshore races and deliveries, match racing and a wide variety of regattas, each contributing to his prowess on the water. Over two decades ago, he turned his hobby into a career as a qualified sailmaker, accruing invaluable expertise in the marine and textile industry. His journey took him across borders, working internationally charter sailing for two years before returning to his native New Zealand in 2010. It was there that he laid the foundation for AH Covers in 2011, a venture dedicated to serving the local market with bespoke marine solutions.
Alex's strength lies in finding unique, practical, and visually appealing solutions to all textile-related problems. He meticulously custom designs and manufactures all products, ensuring a flawless final creation. With his global experience, ranging from race yachts to super yachts, industrial textiles, aerospace industry, and emergency services, he has demonstrated his adaptability and expertise in reinventing the existing market.
